Quick and easy urban fantasy role-playing rules

OneDice Urban Fantasy is a game of hidden magic in a fictionalised version of our world, where the enchantment of the Otherworlds spills over into mundane reality. The action takes place in the present day, in a fae-haunted city near you. Whether you want to play a Rosicrucian occultist, a werewolf detective, or a fae-blooded rock star, all the rules you need are in this book.

There are additional “skins” for adding other urban fantasy genres – the magic school, the modern world with magic everywhere, and a world with magic but no fae. Now get ready to rumble – the Unseelie Court have made a pact with the Twilight Brotherhood and there’s trouble brewing at the Goblin Market!

Suitable for ages 10+
Look out for OneDice genre books and world books!

There are two "Curse" and two "Sleep" spells among the intermediate fae magic. The two sleep spells are completely the same. (Greetings from Hungary)

This is not a problem unique to your product, but Previews which use blank pages and credit pages, and generic "what is a role-playing game" pages, are completely worthless for purposes of trying to get a sense of the game's mechanics and flavor. We can't thumb through a copy here, so a preview that actually helped make a decision would be incredibly useful.

I agree completely. Please put a little effort into tearing down the barriers between your product and my understanding it enough to want to make a purchase.

Hi Folks, Most of our OneDice previews are about the same length, and are not usually a problem, but maybe we can re-jig this one to give a longer overview. If you want to check the mechanics out, there is a free/pwyw Quickstart version of the OneDice ruleset on Drivethru. Sorry for the inconvenience.

And maybe I just don't get the process involved in making a preview. It is certainly not limited to your games; I see it all the time. Previews with blank pages, credits, tables of contents... the same thing ALL games have in common and no-one buys the games for. It DID belatedly occur to me I could grab your quickstart. :P But I still think a preview would serve your interests better if it highlighted the actual game.

The way DriveThru's system works, we can only show a block of pages, X to Y. Lots of people like to see the contents. We've also had people saying they want to see the index. The only way to do both is to give away the whole book :-)

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
