Got 99 problems? Make sure that a polearms for tonight's game aren't one!

100 Polearms is a finely crafted list of mostly historically accurate and verisimilitudinous polearms collected by our semi-professional Poles. Perfect for outfitting the royal guard, filling up a treasure hoard, or picking what your next character is going to wield. 5 pages of polearms! Thats a lot!

For Example:

23. Nangsun (Korean): a multipletipped bamboo spear. It was about 25 feet long. About half of it was blades and the other half was just the handle of the spear. It was designed to deceive enemies into thinking it was a tree, and its blades were often poisoned.

83. Voulge-Guisarmes: As Voulge, except with a hook on the backside of the blade.

89. Assegai, Assagai (African): a pole weapon used for throwing or hurling, usually a light spear or javelin made of wood and pointed with iron. The Zulu and other Nguni tribes of South Africa were renowned for their use of the assegai. Shaka of the Zulu invented a shorter-style assegai, known as the iklwa or ixwa, for the sound that was heard as it was withdrawn from the victim’s
wound.

This product is system and genre agnostic, so feel free to use it to use it to feed your fantasy PCs, to name your tanks in any number of popular war games set in the far future, to add some realism to your virtual reality simulator adventures, or just to spark your own imagination!

When the original AD&D came out the RPG community, which was comprised almost entirely of wargamers, noticed a distinctive feature of the weapon tables. There were an awful lot of polearms culled from various geographies seemingly at whim. The ru [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
