This is a 55-card accessory for
the Covert Ops Role Playing Game.

This deck contains 5 each of all conditions which can affect player operatives in the Covert Ops role playing game.  If you are interested in purchasing the full digital download (which includes several products in one zip file) or the hardcover book which includes all three of the product's books in one, please go here: Core Product.  What follows is a description specific to this deck.

Condition Deck

Bill's operative was hit by a deathtrap earlier and barely escaped, but is still weakened and slowed by its effects.  Stephanie's operative is suffering great fatigue after moving through the jungle all night to get here on time to join the raid.  Noah's operative is in tip-top shape, ready for anything, but Hunter's operative is suffering the after-effects of the drugs they fed him while he was held captive.  As the team stalks the enemy base corridor, they come upon an area you know is armed with a lethal intruder countermeasure.  Each has to make a thief skill check, but who's penalized by which condition?

Sometimes, despite all your best efforts, it's hard to remember who is afflicted with which condition.  Sometimes a condition goes away just because you realized you forgot to enforce it.  Now there's a simple solution to that problem: Condition Cards.

Whenever an operative suffers from such an affliction, throw one of these cards at him.  As it sits there in front of him it serves as a visual reminder of the effect.  Additionally, the actual game mechanics of the effect are given right there on the card so that their may be no mistaking its effect.

This deck also makes it easy to arbitrate critical failures.  A player rolls doubles and fails and you don't have a good story-based setback to throw at him?  Slap a "dazed" card in front of him.

The yellow ones are debilitate, but the red ones take you out of the action completely... another quick way to identify at-a-glance what has happened.

This digital download is a print & play version of the card set.  Simply download and print the cards onto Avery Business Cards or the cheaper namebrand alternatives.  Print to microperf high gloss cars for best results.  Or, if you would like a more durable solution, purchase the print-on-demand card set which comes with 110 cards (5 of each condition) to throw at your unsuspecting player operatives.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
