Hi! The description was saying that there were wall et floor sheets, but there's only the equivalent for streets. Do you have or are you planing to publish the interior customables (like the wood floor per exemple)? Thank you and have a nice day :)

Hello. Sorry for any confusion. The only blank sheets are for street textures, and at present we don't have any plans to update with plain interior floor textures.

Hi, I was wondering if you had a list indicating the size in squares for the individual images in this set?

For example, I use Roll20 for my virtual tabletop game and it would mean a lot of time saved for me if I knew in advance if a given png file was intended to be 2x3 squares or 4x5, etc. Otherwise, I have to do a massive amount trial and error or do a great deal of repetitive math to convert the pixels into squares.

For future products, perhaps the measurements in squares can be included in the filename? Such as "Heroic_Maps_Town_Street_14_4x4" or something like that.

What distribution rights are associated with these titles? Are they copyrighted, creative commons of some type, or something else?

Hi Charles. They are fully copyrighted and are only for personal use. No distribution or commercial use is allowed. A coyright notice is included on most pages in the pdf. Thanks for asking

Good to know! I appreciate the quality of your work and wanted to make sure I honored that. I hadn't bought one of your kits yet (hence why I didn't know about the internal notice) and wanted to make sure I knew your policy.

I am using your Kits for roll20... And for the streets in particular I am missing a simple Tile (maybe 1x1, 2x2 and/or 3x3) with only the borderstone. When there are some small tiles unused I don't want to leave the place free... Besides that I really like the quality of your Heroic Maps Kits!

What is the easiest way to use these to create a full map? Can they be combined in word or some other program, such as paint or something to create an entire map, or is it easiest to print what you need and go from there? Basically what I would like to know is how do folks use these to lay out their maps? I was thinking of using these to create a map that I can then import into a virtual table top system like Fantasy Grounds.

Hi Timothy. There are various ways you can use these tiles. If you want to play on the table, you can just print off the ones you want and use them. Some people go further and stick them onto card, and add 3D elements (like walls). If you're using it on a VTT, either upload each tile separately and build them together in the VTT software, or use some Photo editing software (Photoshop, GIMP) etc to combine them into a single image, save that and import that into your VTT software. Hope that helps!

This product is great (as is all of your artwork) but I cant download either of the PNG Zip versions via dropbox (direct download is hellishly slow, like 10-20 kbps). This makes arranging the files on my computer very difficult! I've never had this before. Can you please check for a problem??

This looks like a very interesting method of forming a village. I have most of the Heroic Maps content because it is quality and seems to be just what I need for my games. One thing I would like to see, in the spirit of this modular pack, is a Modular Kit for villages in the style of Pyrringham Village; backwater buildings with dirt roads connecting. A lot of Heroic Maps towns have cobbled roads, but there are very few dirt roads.

Hi Ryan. Thanks so much for the kind words. That's a great idea with the Modular Village set - that's something we can definitely put out in the future. Joe

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
