SLINGS

Animated gif of slings   Whenever I have gotten a chance to play a tabletop RPG, the one thing being asked over and over again was:  “Whose miniature is that one?”   It didn’t matter if we were playing on a flat map or a 3D setting; the question had been asked often enough for me to give it some thought and create the character sling.

These character slings are the answer to the question that no longer needs to be asked.  With a simple glance, everyone will know where each other’s character is located on the field of play.  A simple icon on one side of the tab reveals the class of character located in the sling.  The color of the sling can also quickly distinguish each player’s character from the other.  And if that’s not enough . . .  The name of each character can be scribed right there on the tab with the basic stats for a quick reference.

An added bonus to using these slings is the protection of your painted miniatures.  Using a sling, they don’t bounce around, chip or wear the paint off by handling.  You can now pull out those fantastic miniatures you’ve painted, but were afraid to use because they might get damaged by handling them.  No more reaching down into the environment and knocking things around with your fingers while moving your characters.

Good luck with your gaming and may you have an easier time handling the miniatures.

Sorry Karen, this is not a pay what you want. The box is checked by default and I hadn't noticed it when I first posted the Slings.

This is supposed to be pay what you want. But it says $3.79 and I also cannot see the full size preview. What exactly is this product?

What are slings? The "Full-size Preview" comes up blank when you click on it.

Sorry Bruce. I'm adjusting to the way this site operated as fast as I can. I have made a couple of mistakes and I'm in the middle of fixing them. Thanks for you patience. This is the first time I've done this and I'm finding that I'm in too much of hurry and missing a few details.

When I click on the picture of the cover, the cover page pops up full size but when I click on the words Full-size Preview, I get a blank page. I'm not sure why that happens.

That's cool. I received an email telling me about a new products that watch and it sounded interesting. BTW I'm not sure if you meant to post below what looks like a message to the site admin.

These should be in miniatures, not in publisher resources.

They are in both. The "How to" because it's instructional and the "Miniature games" because the Slings are used as an aid to miniatures. I'm new at this, was I supposed to only pick one or the other?

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
