Deniable is a darkly satirical 'story game' designed for small gaming groups. It tips its hat to those wonderfully wicked British TV espionage series such as Spy and Spooks.

It is about decidedly average English people coerced into participating in 'operations of national importance' by a shadowy espionage organisation.

If you are looking for a game that revels in the lives of little people caught up in big events, and of small drama made into epics, then this game is for you. We guarantee you'll be laughing until you cry in no time.

This product includes:

  • a 108 rulebook, including walkthrough and extensive example of play
  • printable and online character sheets
  • access to free playbooks (treatments)

A unique storytelling game

  • Zero prep gaming for 3-4 players (no really!)
  • Fast: plays is usually 2 hours per episode
  • Mimics British TV dramas, so you know it's good
  • Hilarious satire...or gritty drama - your choice!

You could make up for it by putting me in contact with that amazingly adorable guy with the duct tape over his mouth!

Sorry William.... He works for "the Organisation" now. His identity is a matter of National Security... If only they knew where he was.

OMG. I'm such a clod. Deniable's launch has been a total fiasco! We were actually planning to launch next Monday, after the print runs had been confirmed, but due to a missed setting the softcopy launched today... WITH THE WRONG FILES! I'm very, very embarrassed: I just gained two points of stress, and certainly lost Cred.

I am correcting the problem right now.

For the folks who have already ordered, I will send you all a personally signed hardcopy of the game. I'll email you each shortly.

Again, I'm super embarrassed. We should be better than this. And we will be.

Sincerely,
Joe

Well, just to keep you all in the loop, I contacted the help desk; their response: "Our Publisher Service team has been contacted and will be working to correct this issue as soon as possible. We will contact you when we hear back from them." So hopefully help is on its way.

Same here, document was an .indd file. I have indesign, but couldn't print it to pdf because the publisher locked out legacy versions older than the one they used to make it.

While I appreciate the sentiment in making it easier for customers to just straight away pirate their material, I don't generally get down like that, so a watermarked pdf as promised would be stellar.

I purchased and downloaded this game, expecting it to be a watermarked PDF; but the file I received is an Adobe InDesign file (.INDD suffix) and I cannot open it! Help!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
