A genius on the brink of Madness... Doctor M!

A Power Level 10 Renegade, Doctor M is a scientific genius who stands on the precipice of madness! Manon St. Martin is not afraid to put her mutagenic skills to use when the situation calls for it, and experience has taught her to trust her instincts. Her followers, the Muta-Men, are devoted followers who stand by their benefactor's brilliance. Doctor M is a classic mad scientist archetype in the Beacon City universe, but can be dropped into any campaign with very little alteration.

Doctor M is designated "Blue" for her technological origins. Inspired by classic "meddling" mad doctors like Dr. Moreau, she brings a new twist to the genre by saving lives instead of destroying them(so far!). As a Renegade, she lives outside the law (and well outside the normal shipping lanes), but may encounter your heroes for any number of reasons. She might serve as a potential scientific consultant on strange cases, the source of an unintended biological disaster, or even a strange romantic interest for a scientifically-minded hero! Presented along with several examples of her Muta-Men, she will be a memorable addition to any superhero's supporting cast.

Welcome to Rogues, Rivals & Renegades. Each entry in the series is designed as a villain, a potential ally with complications, or an outsider who might help the PCs one day and be at odds with them another. Each character has the potential to become a mainstay of your campaign!

Rogues, Rivals & Renegades are presented as files from a meta-human monitoring agency called METAs, with a loose frame story connecting them to Vigilance Press's own Beacon City setting. They are designed to drop into any setting with minimal effort, however, and the METAs commentary is written to give you a better picture of each character's personality and threat level. Each issue gives you a background for the character, commentary from METAs files, a standee to print and play with, and Hero Lab files for key characters!

Authored by Jack Norris with full color art by Alex Williamson and Dionysia Jones, and layout by Ruben Byrd. Designed for the Mutants and Masterminds Third Edition Roleplaying game.

This issue is included as an entry in Rogues, Rivals & Renegades Collection One!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
