Uncharted Worlds is a space opera of discovery and adventure, which explores a universe full of deadly beauty, hostile frontiers, rapacious organisations, and crippling debt. It’s a story-building game where dramatic encounters drive the narrative ever onward, building a solid, memorable universe that’s unique to each group. If you want to pilot your ship across the reaches of space, be the first human to make landfall on alien shores, bring back hard-won exotic cargo, deal with galactic corporations, go toe-to-toe corrupt empires and rebel scum, face down ruthless pirates (or perhaps engage in a bit of interstellar piracy yourself)… then strap yourself in, disengage your mooring clamps and prepare for one hell of a Wild Jump.

Also available - Uncharted Worlds: Far Beyond Humanitythe expansion to Uncharted Worlds.

Is there any reason these files are watermarked? The Far Beyond Humanity book isn't.

The attachments upgrade for firearms (page 116) lists a melee upgrade (sharp) that does not seem to exist anywhere else in the book. I'm guessing that sharp was renamed to something else, but was forgotten in this one instance OR the wording is awkward and it's trying to say the attachment is sharp & has one of the other upgrade options. Also, the line of text in question is written the same way in your Far Beyond Humanity book as well.

Do you mind letting me know what is correct for the attachments upgrade? Thanks.

How would you compare this to Impulse Drive?

Oh, man! It seems I'm necroposting this answer, but if you still read this, thank you for pointing towards ID.

Because for me ID turned out to be 'That's it!' :-)

Comparing to UW :

* It's much more flexible,
* it doesn't try to systematize obvious things
* it's ready to play as is,
* it has ship playbooks,
* I like its Moves a way more
* and it's closer to Dungeon World (don't know is it an advantage)

It's also very easy to read and catch, but UW has it too

So... If you are not afraid to get a draft of a book without pictures, etc. It's a no brainer, because ID's preview is free. But I think I'll buy it when they release it

You'll get much more PC Archetypes with UW.

There are several playbooks (pregen chars), but also there is a whole system of character creation. You select yuor Origin and 2 Careers, which gives you a set of Skills to choose from (yes, there are Skills too). Then you finish your character and invent its Archetype name to your liking

I noticed that PoD is "temporarily disabled." If I order the pdf and softcover does that mean that the print version will be delayed? Thanks.

Will you add a non-watermarked PDF copy of the character creation section? This would allow the GM to provide hand-outs for online play.

I saw a POD version of this book and the cover's color was significantly washed out and there was a black bar along the back cover suggesting a mis-alignment. Have these been fixed or was it just a misprint?

My cover sure is a lot more washed out that the digital preview. Also, the small black bar on the left edge of the black cover is still there.

Thanks. The author also confirmed as much on G+.

What is the difference between the Spread, Single and lowimpact files? They all seem to be the corebook?

What type of game engine does this use (d20, fate, etc)?
Customer avatar
Lorenzo B November 29, 2016 6:23 am UTC
Powered by the Apocalypse, which uses the same engine as Apocalypse World and Dungeon World. Essentially, roll 2d6s, add a stat. 6- is a failure, 7 - 9 is a partial success/success with concession/10+ is a full success.

Does anybody have a play report from using this to play Stargate SG:1 type game?

Sean G., I backed this on kickstarter and I'm finally about to start playing, but I'm wondering where the Carta Galaxia and Far Beyond Humanity are at? I tried looking at the G+ and kickstarter site, but there doesn't seem to be any information easily at hand?
Customer avatar
Alfred R September 01, 2016 10:44 pm UTC
All CG and FBH information is in the same dropbox provided to backers during the Kickstarter while the text was in-production. The dropbox link can be found on the G+ group, and on

I heard a physical copy would be available soon. Any idea on how soon, a few days/weeks? End of the year? This looks amazing, but I don't want to get the PDF by itself.

Thanks for the interest.

I went ahead and bought the .pdf and sheets. I notice you don't have any even-numbered page-numbers in the bottom corners. Is that an accident?

Its a deliberate design decision apparently. It looks a little odd in the PDF, when viewed as single pages. But when viewed as spreads (as it would be in the printed book) it makes more sense.

Will there be supplement books for this rule?
Customer avatar
DAVID A November 02, 2015 12:01 pm UTC
Two the stretch goals in the Kickstarter were for supplements.

One was for the Carta Galaxia which is a "digital expansion, with pre-generated worlds, characters, factions and hazards. Random generation tables for factions, anomalies and planetary terrain. Jump Points (quick-start missions, situations and opportunities)."

The other is Far Beyond Humanity: A modular, digital expansion for character creation. New, inhuman Origins; robots, mutants, multiple kinds of alien. New, bizarre and supernatural Career Paths to combine with the base careers; psionics, mutations, mysticism, cybernetics, etc. New upgrades for weapons, loadouts and vehicles; living, phasing, intelligent, shapeshifting and more.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
