Greetings Knotty-Works

I picked this up because I love both the monk and alchemist and I have to say that this is a great hybrid. Changes things up just enough to make things interesting with great player potential. However, and this is my only gripe, why the limited alchemist discoveries? I especially do not understand why you included wings and tentacles yet did not include preserver organs. As a fairly martial orientated class this seems odd to me. I was wondering if the list of available discoveries could be updated with a few additional choices (such as: Bitter Pill, Preserve Organs, Dilution, Eternal Potion, Feral Mutagen, Spontaneous Healing) which make sense for the overall theme of the hybrid class.

Thanks for the feedback, it is very appreciated. This issue is an older one that came out in April of 2016 so Bitter Pill would not have been available. I believe my original thought process of the design was to keep the list relatively short and focused on poisonous effects and aberrant bodily changes that could be considered a mutation. The concept behind this class was the Toxic Avenger comic/movies I remembered from my younger years.
As the discoveries were part of the pretty good sized list of toxic powers it was intentional to keep the list small so it would give a character the ability to pull options from the Alchemist class directly but I didn't want it overloaded so that many of the other cool toxic powers would be ignored. The character only gets 9 total (unless the Extra Toxic Power feat is taken once or more to add more) so by limiting it to 8 discoveries, it kind of forces the player to choose at least one other toxic power.
However, absence from the list does not mean a discovery...See more

Really appreciate the response TKW! I hadn't realized the release date was 2016. :P I know that I will be adding at least Preserve Organs to the list as it certainly makes sense, more so in light of what you mentioned (aka The Toxic Avenger, which btw is an awesome movie). I imagine it as his organs actually moving around and/or migrating throughout his body. Good stuff indeed.

Cheers

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
