Exiled in Eris: Sword & Blaster Fantasy RPG

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Hunt for lost treasures among the ruins of a bygone age in this roleplaying game inspired by classic pulp tales of Planetary RomanceSword and Sorcery, and the Wild West. Swords, blasters, and sorcery mix with monsters, robots, and aliens while searching for fortune and adventure amidst danger and intrigue. All this awaits in the desert no-man's land of the distant future.

Imagine the wild west with swords and Seventies-style blaster pistols. Imagine a female espionage agent in a futuristic skin-tight bodysuit and a Clint Eastwood-style poncho karate kicking an orc in the face. Imagine a grizzled veteran and his buddy, a robot from a proud lineage of noble warriors, cracking open the tomb of a long-dead king only to wake the immortal, six-legged, genetically-engineered guardian beast from its thousands of years of suspended animation. That is Exiled in Eris.

  • Easy-to-learn rules system, using a 20-sided die for most rolls, but also the standard range of dice (d4, d6, d8, d12, d10, d20).
  • Choose from 8 different species, including Humans, Cyberdroids, the reptilian Dakazi, mole-like Deru, and various types of homunculi (genetically-engineered beings).
  • Harness supernatural powers like Sorcery (psychic powers) and Ta'Oudh (manipulating an invisible force).
  • An extensive list of allies and rivals, as well as beasts and monstrosities.
  • Artifacts that can be issued as rewards for discovering ancient caches.
  • Includes a starter adventure: The Tomb of the Architect.

1 2 3 4 5"This is a fantastic little game. I haven't heard any buzz about it, but it deserves to be well-known. The game is presented as a pulpy planetary romance, and it delivers. The system is easy to learn and plays quickly."

BRETT'S EDITORIAL
This game can either be gonzo fun or deadly serious, depending on how you approach it. The biggest attraction for me is that you can use it for Carter/Mars-type adventures, as well as planetary sci-fi B-movies. The beasts with which you may tangle are wild, so too are the types of player characters. The Cyberdroids and mole-men are probably my favorites.

I have a quick question, I had gotten a PDF copy of this for free from this site back in May of 2015. I cannot seem to download that version anymore. I'm not expecting an upgrade since I never spent money on this but why can't I download that earlier version anymore? Thank you for your time.

Hi - Christian - how is this work different from Swords of Cydoria other than the game system? Is it an add on to that product? does it cover the same ground with the new system? If it's an add on any hope for a BRP version?

thanks

Christian is not likely to answer. This game is like a new edition of Swords of Cydoria. It is a stand-alone game.

Hi Malcolm,

There are some modifications to the setting, mostly cosmetic. I changed the names of some things to make them more accessible. I lowered the sea level instead of raised it, making the coastline different, because I wanted more desert landscape. I also changed the focus to the region known as Eris to keep the scope tighter.

Hi. While the content is pretty much the same, the text, layout, and artwork have been edited. If you contact us (www.pigames.net/contact.php), we'll ask for a screenshot of your order showing payment (unfortunately, we don't have access to that information, so this is the only way). Thanks.

Hi folks,

Two questions:

(1) What has changed in the revised edition? And;
(2) How do I prove that I'ver previously purchased the original?

Thanks

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
