Mars Rising

Humanity has been wiped out by a solar flare. The Earth and Moon are seared and scorched leaving only the few thousand martian colonists, representing a handful of Earth's nations, alive. Forced to survive on the barren, harsh surface of Mars with only what they can scavenge and jury rig together, knowing that no supplies, no help, and no relief is on the way. If that was not enough, old tensions between nations have begun to flare up. Panic and fear could topple the colony stations at any moment. Some have gone crazy, claiming to have seen alien beings and ships. Survivors are beginning to report colonists with strange psychic powers...

The players begin play as the crew of the I.S.S. Odysseus, the last colonists to leave Earth for Mars. Their first decision: do they go to Mars Station International like planned, or do they convince the pilot of the Odysseus to take the ship and its invaluable contents to another station, possibly changing the balance of power on Mars and determining how or if humanity passes its most gruelling test ever, survival on an uninhabitable world?

Mars Rising is a stand alone book using the Simpli-6 rules for character creation and game play. This book also includes national factions, rules for psychic powers with 6 distinct power branches, setting appropriate weaponry, armour, equipment, and vehicles, Mars and space-based hazards, half a dozen Jumpstarts, customizable NPCs, setting information including details on over a dozen colonies, as well as secret evil and alien enemies.

Seriously guys, if you want people to buy your games, at least have the courtesy of being professionals !!

Whoever wrote this Advert, is either lacking in basic writing skills, laziness or both. I found at least 30 errors in misspellings and punctuation. At least hire an editor.

as a customer this would put me off of possibly buying this ebook as I would wonder, will it be sloppily written too?

Just F.Y.I.

PUBLISHER
Hello Steve
Thank you for the heads up on the spelling. We`re just a few folks trying to give back to a hobby and don't really have the money for an editor. That does in no way invalidate your point. To that end we've gone through the pdf looking for any spelling errors or typos that we could find and have corrected those we found. We will be taking a fresh look again down the road, as our work and personal lives have become a bit hectic as of late (which is partially why this response comes so late), to see if there was anything we have missed. We have also requested that should any of our customers notice any such errors to take a moment and let us know on our facebook page so we can continue to improve. We are just hobbyists and amateurs, but we are always looking to improve. One final point of note, the book is written in Canadian English, the spelling and grammar of which are much more like British English than American English (i.e labour not labor), just so you are aware.
Thank you again for your...See more

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
