El reino de la nada

Érase una vez un mundo en el que aparecieron gigantes de cristal y granito. Se alzaron desgarrando y destrozando tierra y roca, abriéndose paso hasta que sus raíces se internaron en las profundidades del planeta, devorando toda vida a su alrededor.

Sus cuerpos estaban surcados de cemento y metal oxidado. Sus venas bombeaban pútridos lodos negros. Sus pulmones, llenos de vapor, expulsaban asfixiantes nubes de humo y llamas, viciando el aire mientras sus terribles apéndices rasgaban el mismísimo cielo.

Con el paso de los años, a medida que estos horrores crecían más allá de toda razón, partes de sus cuerpos morían y se desprendían. A menudo canibalizaban sus propias extremidades muertas y las reemplazaban por otras. Sin embargo, otras veces las abandonaban a su suerte.

En estos fúnebres lugares aparecieron los espíritus, en los tenebrosos rincones de la pesadilla urbana. En los Lugares Olvidados. Estos espíritus habitan en un mundo oculto a la mayoría, un mundo disonante que al mismo tiempo contradice y se solapa con la realidad conocida. Más allá de las sombras, callejones y galerías del paisaje urbano, en estaciones de metro abandonadas y edificios derruidos, existen enormes laberintos y decadentes palacios.

Estos lugares mágicos aún contienen muchos restos de su pasado esplendor, aunque incontables peligros esperan al que se atreva a explorarlos…


El Reino de la Nada es un juego sobre gente que lo ha perdido todo y los obstáculos que se encuentran al intentar recuperar su vida y volver a la sociedad. Los jugadores interpretan a una persona que cayó en el olvido. Gente que fue víctima de un acontecimiento tan traumático que derrumbó sus vidas, les robó sus hogares y les arrastró a la indigencia. Durante la historia tendrán que enfrentarse al responsable de su miseria. Solo si son más fuertes podrán recuperar lo que les arrebataron.

Como resultado de un mundo que ignora a los que están verdaderamente desesperados, una fuerza llamada la Nada apareció. La Nada busca a aquellos que han perdido todo lo que amaban y les sume en el olvido hasta que ya no existen para el resto mundo. Las víctimas de la Nada son conocidas como los Perdidos.

La Nada da forma física a sus miedos y esperanzas, creando criaturas que tan solo ellos y otros Perdidos pueden ver. Los miedos son llamados Marañas y las esperanzas son llamadas Ecos.

Pero los Perdidos nunca tienen del todo claro es si todo esto simplemente una ilusión. Algunos lo aceptan como una fantasía y deciden quedarse allí porque es mejor que el mundo real. El Reino de la Nada, sin embargo, está destinado a contar historias de personas dispuestas a luchar para escapar del olvido y encontrar algo mejor.

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
