Hi Ronald, and thanks for your question. There is indeed a print version in the works, and this is what I have been working on since publishing the ebook. I have some Kickstarter rewards to produce and send first, then I will be focusing strongly on the DTRPG/RPGNOW print version.

Hi, David
Any schedule for the kindle version?
Im planing to get the combo (pdf, epub and kindle). The only real mobile device I have is my Kindle. It makes easier to take adventage of those free moments (just open and read like a real book).

Hi there!

I don't have an exact schedule as yet, but I'm hoping to get it done before the end of the year. If I get it done before the end of November then that will be a bonus.

The reason I don't have a more definite timescale is that there are a lot of formatting issues that I'm contending with in terms of the EPUB and Kindle versions as well as the potential print on demand ones - added to which I'm still working on several distribution options for the original Kickstarter versions. So lots of balls in the air means not a lot of certainty over the timescales.

Rest assured though, the mobile versions are the highest priority at this time.

Just to follow up on this question, the Kindle version is on hold for the moment. I've been focusing on the print version and all the modifications and fixes required for that. As such, I don't want to export the book's content to another format until the final form has been verified.

I hope you will be patient whilst I work towards these milestones.

Absolutely agree with Michael H --- when you set up a preview, you can choose the page range, and in this instance a much better selection would be beneficial as the current preview offers absolutely nothing to go on.

Hi folks, your preview doesn't tell me anything about this game. Neither does your website.
How is this different from ED: RPG? I love Elite: Dangerous but you're not doing anything to promote your game...

Hi, and thanks for your comment. Firstly, please let me clarify that this is my first released product - and my first entry on DTRPG. As such, I'm pretty much making this up as I go, and feedback like this is useful, so thanks.

You're right about the preview - it was automatically generated, and it didn't pick a particularly interesting set of pages. Hopefully I've resolved that. I would disagree about the website content - the site contains a great deal about the structure of the book and the content of the game within. If you have something constructive to add to your criticism, then please do so :-)

How is this different from EDRPG? I can't answer that question, as Jon, Oliver and co developed their game completely independently and I haven't had a chance to read it completely enough to break it down - and I think any attempt to do so would be subjective. I do know that each games approaches its subject matter differently. My book is an "all in one RPG", licensed under the...See more single-book "Writer's Pack" pledge from the ED kickstarter and was developed alongside that game from the start. The major difference is that the license allowed me to include the official history of the game's setting straight from the developers themselves, allowing the publication of much-demanded "lore" for the first time in the franchise's history. Also, the book was developed and designed by a single person rather than a team. It contains a custom, proprietary game system based on the humble D6. It contains a fully fleshed out set of "miniatures rules" co-created with the talented but criminally unpublished Colin Ford.

EE is a more "canon" book in the Elite Dangerous setting - it expands upon the content of the game more closely and is more focused on that aspect. EDRPG spreads its speculative wings more and looks at some of the outer periphery of the computer game's setting. I think that from that perspective, both games complement each other, at least in the setting's detail.

In terms of promotion, I am doing as much as I can in the time I have to promote the game. I am checking all of the places where I am selling and promoting the book, looking for comments and feedback. I am active on social media and the forums and areas where fans of roleplaying and Elite Dangerous are lurking. I'm also actively looking for other avenues of promotion, such as contacting gaming reviewers, sites and other places. All this whilst balancing the day job and working on getting other versions of the book out into the wild!

Most of the stuff I've said above can be found on the website as it exists now. However, now that the release is out there I will be looking at each part of the site and modifying its content gradually. I'm planning on creating instructional and gameplay videos as well as linking to existing play sessions once I get time.

In short, it is a book that has literally just been released, and everything about its marketing and promotion is in motion.

Thanks for the reply David, much appreciated and your website does look quite a bit different now. Is there a downloadable character/vehicle sheet? I often find that you can tell much about a game from its character sheet.

Hi Michael. There will be a downloadable character sheet, yes, as well as a vehicle sheet, templates and maybe the Commanders screen and quick reference guide.

The reason I haven't done this yet is that I am trying to decide whether to make a "quick start" booklet available with these things included or just make the individual items available. There are good reasons for either (or both!) and I'm giving this some thought along with the other things that are in motion at the moment. Busy times indeed.
