Super Happy Sentai Hour: Gestalt Edition

Been annoyed at this myself, and a few other holes in the rulebook. But focusing on the core rules and ignoring the optional expanded rules near the back of the book, and just looking at the pre-generated monsters from the original core book (Mr. Stampy, Mr. Slippy, Mr. Subarash, and Spydorr), it looks like it works like this:

"Big" Defense rating= regular Defense -5
"Big" Health rating = normal Health x3
No other changes.

After some number crunching, I THINK this should provide some mostly comparable results to if the monster was piloting a gestalt duplicate of itself, consisting of three parts created under the same mech creation rules as the heroes.

Only part I'm skeptical about is the HP multiplier. Component mechs' Structure is twice the pilot's Health, and the gestalt can have up to six Structure meters based on how many component mechs it's got, so that means up to twelve times a a single pilot's HP. X3 seems a small multiplier for...See more the monster's giant-sized health in comparison, so it seems to me like the monster would go down too easily. Still, I think that's an easy enough number to adjust as necessary on the GM's part, and very easy to work into the campaign's plot too! Just say that the monster from the first episode was made before the villains knew they'd have any serious resistance, and now that they know Earth has defenders, their future monsters will be made stronger to compensate!

Though before taking anything I say seriously, keep in mind that I'm no expert and have never GMed a game before. Just reading the rulebook and trying to make sense of it, in hopes of GMing a campaign whenever I can get a group together.

I did contact the publisher through Facebook Messenger and got a reply.

They said what you did, but you forgot a couple things.

1: All damage is rolled on 2d6=DF
2: -5 to attacks
3: -5 to DF
4: 3x HP

I just wish they would update the pdf with this for completeness sake.

Also, how do you derive the “Big” stats for the MDJs? I can’t find it anywhere in the book.

If so, please correct the missing rules for "going big", and clarify the "bombs" monster special ability.
