Each hero has their own booklet, detailing who they are, how their character sheet works, and what they can do. All this, plus the Gameplay Guide, add up to a total of 13 booklets included in this Starter Kit!

I own a physical copy and I think its great value for money - Gameplay Guide booklet with 19 illustrated pages + 1 page index (does not include cover); 6 x 8 page character booklets (including cover, 2 page character sheet, 1 page bio, and 4 pages of a summary of the rules); and 6 x Adventure booklets (5 are 10 pages, 1 is 14 pages, not including cover), each supposedly with 90 minutes of game play (I have not played the game).

From their Kickstarter (ends in 18 days) are the following links where you can get all of these for free ...

Just played this last night with some friends so I had to get the PDF download! Neat implementation of super heroes comic style. I love the minimal mechanics and the role-playing injection of the three dice (Powers, Qualities, and Status). I played Absolute Zero. as a long time City of Heroes MMO player, I really appreciated the approach. Good luck and I am looking forward to more!

I'd pick this up if my FLAGS gets it in. Not big on a PDF for starter kits. I want a box :)

As a note, the term "starter kit" is mostly used in the industry to refer to a free bundle of stuff meant to give a taste of the full game. By advertising a starter kit and putting a price on it, you're going to turn off a lot of potential customers right from the bat.

5th Edition D&D has a "starter set" that is not free. The FFG Star Wars games have a "Beginner Game" that is also not free. I have nothing to do with this company but I think the name of the product is unlikely to turn off people.

DnD and SW are established popular properties, as are the publishers. They can afford to take this risk

I have never thought of a starter kit to be a free bundle. Even a quick search on DTRPG for starter kit shows plenty of companies who charge for their "introduction" to the game. Yes there are some free ones as well but I saw more that had a cost than there were free and a lot of them were double the cost of this one (if not more).

Hi!
I'm not an employee of Greater Than Games but I am a playtester for them (though I admit I did not playtest this product).

It does not. The full system however, will.

As I've written somewhere else: after giving it a first read it is really a cool take on fusing Apocalypse World and Fate game action resolution methods while resorting to a dice ladder (and other nice dice tricks) and developing to it to try to emulate the super-hero comic book narratives. All that and it still manages to be quite suportive of the Sentinel's setting and reminiscent of the original card game playing experience.

Here's a rundown of the system by Blackwingedheaven on RPG.net:

"Okay, so it's a dice pool system similar to Cortex, but a player's dice pool is always three dice. One comes from your Powers (your super-powers, naturally), one from your Qualities (skills, motivations, stuff like that), and one from your Status, which is based on your Condition. Your Condition is based on how many Health Points you have remaining. The Condition track runs Green, Yellow, Red, and Out (GYRO to help remember it). Generally, your Condition die changes as your Condition progresses...See more

I have to echo the other commenters here. There needs to be a preview or some manner of description of the system for me to plunk down ten dollars for this product.

A picture and give me $10 is not enough for me to buy this. Maybe some kind of description that will allow me to decide if it is the kind of game I'd enjoy. Far too many "rules lite to the point of virtually no rules" games on the market now. I don't want to pay money, just to discover another.

Hi!

This is not a "rules lite" system. It is at it's core a similar system to teh one that was used by the Marvel Heroic Roleplaying. Hell it's made by some of the same design team!

The "Starter Kit" is a full product, it contains 6 pre-gens and 6 "issues/missions".
You will not get the full game for free if you buy this.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
