Hey, quick question. Trying to build a map in roll20 for the first time. The smaller parts upload just fine, but it doesn't want to upload the blank map backgrounds properly.

Any experience with this?

Would really love to know if it is possible to print these.
I have no knowledge of how VTT images work so, please, forgive my ignorance.

The files will print, they are .png format that most graphics packages handle. If you are up to a big craft project it would be fine, I designed them with digital tabletops in mind but there is no reason you can't print them out. Send me some pics of your effort :)

OK - Silly question. Can you print these out and cut them up for regular tabletop use or are they only used for Roll20 / Fantasy Grounds?

It is possible to print them although they are formatted for digital tabletop. If you are up for a craft project and don't mind cutting loads of paper it would be fine.

Anyone used this in Tabletop Simulator? Was curious how it worked before purchasing, since I wont be using Roll20 or FG.

G'day Alex,

Couple of questions.

I bought this set, but the Sword Master heroes seem to be missing. Also is there a lake / water element like the one you have on the Dark Forest map?

Thanks in advance.

On one of the Woodland maps there is a lake, but there are no river/lake parts in the advanced bundle. Will there be a special water bundle? it bothers me to not be able to make rivers and lakes, especially with the jungle tiles from the expansion - no real jungle without a great waterfall!

I will include river sections as a priority. And a working bridge / broken bridge option.

Thanks you so much! I was hoping to use your system for an upcoming session but it takes place on a forested island so I'll have to find some other map to use.

Can't wait for the expension to come. ^^
I've got a question:" Do you plan to draw isometric maps for other settings, sci-fi, cyberpunk, steampunk, etc ?
Customer avatar
Alex D March 26, 2018 3:38 am UTC
Scifi yes as well as post apocalyptic wasteland style.

I wanted something "different" for a Rolemaster game using Fantasy Grounds - this is perfect. Definitely interested in more maps and tokens -really excellent work.

The price seems to keep changing for this sale period (GM Day 2018, up to March 11th I think). I'm waiting to see if it should happen to be lower. Is this the final change to the sale price?

I've been looking over this package and it looks fantastic and it looks like it would really add some depth and detail to my campaign. This question has been asked several times, but I haven't seen an answer. Can these items be printed out for use on a table? The online RPG doesn't work for my group and where we have our sessions, it's simply not conducive to having an entire technology setup running at the same time.

Thank you.

How does this bundle work if you have a free Roll20 account? Will it exceed the default size limits? Is it easy enough to upload and use? I'm very curious.
Customer avatar
Alex D March 01, 2018 10:48 pm UTC
If you add every map into the one game at the same time yeah it would go over your default space but I'd rarely have everything loaded, players can spend afew sessions on the one map, also using the modular parts you can build out very large maps using minimal storage. As far as usability is concerned, it is like stacking dungeon blocks and throwing icons on top.

Any plans to sell through Roll20 directly? While I love supporting DriveThru, I'd much rather purchase it there and avoid the upload and file management issues.

Hi Alex,

First off, truly excellent product. I cannot wait to show your work off to my group; they're going to love it.

I do, however, have a question/request: Are there existing plans to produce additional "heroes/monsters", and if not, what would it take to make that happen? There's enough in the Epic Isometric Bundle to make due, but I would be absolutely thrilled if I could get my hands on 2-3 male & female "minis" for each class & race and additional varieties of creatures--particularly those that are often encountered in groups, hordes, etc. For example, there are currently no archer or bard type minis of any kind, there are maybe 2 obviously female minis (one of which is an angel, so super cool, but not exactly a mini I'll be using very frequently), and I would love to see more orcs, goblins, lizardfolk, etc. How about bandits/thugs, werewolves, vampires, skaven/ratfolk, animals other than wolves (including 2-3 more wolf designs), etc.?

I'm...See more

Great looking product but it looks there is one lingering questtion. Can these be used in print? They look like they would work fantastically with the ICRPG stuff. Thanks!

Original electronic
Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
