The Storytelling Game of Passion and Horror

This isn't Heaven. This isn't Hell. This isn't anything you could have imagined. Death wasn't the end. Death wasn't the answer. Death was just the beginning. So what do you do? Do you listen to the voice inside your head telling you to just let go? Or do you still fight, still love, still feel the passion that won't let you rest? Oblivion's the easy way out. Life after death is hard. Choose. You have eternity to weigh the condequences.

Wraith: The Oblivion.

It's not about death. It's about what comes after.

Note: The Black & White print editions of this book are not full-bleed. Because of printing requirements there is a small white border around the edge of the pages.

World of Darkness: Ghost HuntersWorld of Darkness: Ghost Hunters

The abandoned lover, waiting for her paramour to return, only to die, alone. Now she waits in her house forever.

The murdered family, killed in a spree so violent their spirits couldn’t pass on to the hereafter, now wreaking an untampered revenge on anyone they find.

The serial killer, who never made his tally complete in life, now determined to possess the bodies of the living to continue his gruesome campaign.

These ghosts, and more, haunt our world. They watch us, they torment us, they play with us, they find themselves locked in Sisyphean cycles, where the only respite comes through the haunting of the living.

It is our role to hunt these spirits down. Some believe we’re laying them to a deserved rest. Others hunt for the renown and to put down the homicidal dead. Others believe they’re doing God’s work, or with every hunt, their knowledge of the paranormal world increases.

We are ghost hunters, and regardless of our motives, it is our task to ensure the dead may no longer torture the living.

Good quality of a scan (a bit too bright sadly). PDF is searchable. Not much to say about the game itself. Looks... emotionally heavy to me. You will have to try it for yourself though ;) [...]

Great product but a terrible scan. Not only is the text blurry, but it is very often very light -- and bad combination! Especially given that much of the flavor text is in italic or faux-handwriting, it is especially difficult to read. I am very [...]

White Wolf’s biggest artistic and critical success, but also a commercial flop. The central (death) concept is very taken with thematic Jungian ideas such as archetypes, complexes and individuation, whilst being very easy to play out ghost stories wh [...]

Note: This is a review of the hardcover Print on Demand product and not the game. The PoD book is a printed version of the currently available PDF. While the text and art is fuzzy in places, it is legible and more than useable for games. The bin [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
