Usherwood Publishing has spared all expenses to present to you our line of ‘classic’ First Edition and OSRIC[TM] compatible fantasy-based roleplaying game adventure modules. We haven’t even bothered to type-set the manuscript, because really, why bother? These adventures may not be good for your matured sense of high-adventure, but they sould be good for a laugh or two.

The Gems of Fire pits your band of adventurers against a dungeon filled with a series of disjointed and unrelated encounters in pursuit of the legendary ‘Gems of Fire’. What are these gems? Really, we have no clue. The manuscript doesn’t really address that detail. But, Hey! it makes a darned good title, don’t it!?

Return with us to the good ‘ol days when ’plot’ was just a four-letter word that stood between you and the treasure.

Got your own High Adventure from those by-gone days? If you have some of your own manuscripts from the days when we were all honing our gaming skills, we would like to add it into our collection of unique adventures. The more ludicrous the goal, the more illogical the plot, the better for our line of High-Adventure from Middle School line of adventures.

The Ushewood Adventures Introductory Adventure Bundle opens the door to the entire Usherwood Adventures campaign setting. Included are four great modules that can be played both with the campaign setting, or in the setting of any GM. The bundle includes Yrchyn, the tyrant, Arachnophobia!, The Door of Infinite Portals, and The Rebel Faction. 248 pages of adventure, regularly priced at $20.00, get all 4 titles for just $15.00!

Pieces liberated from "Dark Tower". Get that in the original version for an AD&D classic module. Honest in its text - written by a 13 year old - and not in a good way. Don't waste your time unless you want to point and laugh at it. [...]

This feels like old school in the best way. It has a sketch book style. Break out the graph paper and gather a few friends and have fun :) [...]

The typewritten parts are from JG088 Dark Tower by Judges Guild in 1979. The "Gems of Fire" refer to the 6 "Soul Gems" which are artifacts in the JG088 module. In that module, the gems embed in the forehead of the person who touches [...]

I think you'll find the cut and pasted bits are from "Dark Tower" by Paul Jaquays. As for the additions and the map, only if you're far, far gone in nostalgia. [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
