Splinters of the Wyld

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Sometimes writers write too much.

The Compass of Terrestrial Directions, Vol. II—The Wyld offers many locations, people and creatures for Exalted games, but the writers produced quite a bit more than we expected. It seemed a shame just to throw the excess material away, though. Then, over time, other books ended up with little scraps and fragments of Wyld lore, and those seemed too cool to leave in the oblivion of a computer trash bin. Before we knew it, we had a lot of pieces with no home, so we decided to stitch them together into a crazy quilt of additional game pieces for your Exalted series.

The result is Splinters of the Wyld, additional glimpses of the madness waiting at Creation’s rim.

A PDF-Exclusive Series Book for Exalted

Splinters of the Wyld contains:

* New locations for the Northern, Western, Southern and Eastern Wyld

* More Mutations and Deragements

* More creatures and characters

Short but sweet. This is a great addition to the Wyld, just make sure you get this book AFTER you picked up the other books on the wyld first as it wastes no time and just goes strait into the content that was cut from other publications assuming you' [...]

A very nice product overall. Some wonderful setting information, and a series of writeups that give you more than enough reasons to include them in your game. Some of the crunch (notably the few mutations in the book) aren't quite to the level I [...]

Awesome! Every bit as good as the original work. If similar 'overflow' products continue to match this quality White-Wolf will definitely be on to something! [...]

Not a bad little supplement, with pieces left out of former books. I can see why some of it was abandoned, since it leans more towards the readable than the gameable in parts, but there are some very cool bits of work in Splinters. [...]

A book containing new locations at the edges of Creation, new wyld creatures, mutations and more. This is a must have for the Fair Folk enthusiasts, or for those who just want more material for their Exalted universe. The supplement is short and sweet [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
