58 Dungeons 36 Castles (AoV: Campaign Map Set Value Pack)

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Now on Sale until the end of October for just $9.95!

One of the largest campaign map sets of all time! (A compilation of seven previously published SSD map sets.)

The AoV Campaign Map Set value pack features a large regional map. A four page full color map (Near poster size when combined.) featuring several dozen cities, fortresses, temples and dungeons. Over one million square miles to explore! One map with major cities and landmarks for the players, and one with dungeons and hidden cities for the Dungeon Master. (Regional map clearly shows details like city size, dungeon locations, rivers, waterfalls, bridges, and landmarks.)

Now, wherever an adventure might take players the DM will have a detailed map to show their characters the way. Then, perhaps more importantly, when they arrive the DM will have intelligently designed maps of castles, keeps, fortresses, strongholds, temples, tombs, labyrinths, lairs, caves, caverns, mazes and catacombs waiting for characters to explore. (Drawn with floor-plan like detail and presented in B&W so every detail prints out crisply and clearly on almost any printer.)

Please Note: Most, but not all Castles, Dungeons and temples shown on regional map have their own unique floor-plan level map included in this set. (However, some have been omitted for use with other SSD map sets, or so DMs may design their own cities.)

Specifically you will receive with the value pack the following seven map sets:

20 Caves & Caverns Map Set, 20 Labyrinths & Lairs Map Set, 18 Mazes & Catacombs Map Set, 12 Castles & Keeps Map Set, 12 Fortresses & Strongholds Map Set, 12 Temples & Tombs Map Set and the Midlands Regional Map Set.

Each map ranges from 1 to 4 (8.5 x 11") pages in size.  All are designed using a universal legend for ease of use. All contain pixel level details including traps, types of doors and  locking devices used, windows, stairs, secret levers, statues, furniture, chests, and in some cases even torch locations on walls. (When applicable.) Narrative descriptions can easily be given to players on the fly by the average DM, since each map plainly displays every important detail the DM need know about the surrounding area/city/dungeon.

Just add your own NPCs, monsters and/or treasure to suit your style of play and you will be good to go for years! (If not decades to come.) PDF file is well booked marked so you can print and play exactly what you want, when you wanted. Permission is provided in PDF file to print at high resolution, and copy/paste maps into other programs for editing. Finally, maps may also be annotated using adobe reader. (So you can put "post-it" notes, for treasure, traps and monsters wherever you want.) Perfect for running Dungeons using your laptop!

Sold separately over a $30 value, now all in one campaign value set for only $12.95

Please see large preview to view map samples, or see SSD products to view map sets as they are individually presented.

DM note: As mention by previous reviewers, these maps have a serious old school feel to them. (Created by DM with 30 years of experience, for his own games and other DMs.) Most maps simply ooze ambience and purpose. They are simple in design, but complex to explore. Easy to use, but hard to master. All potential buyers are strongly urged to view PDF preview to see if this style of map is right for them.

I just picked this up and I am pleasantly surprised with the depth and quantity of material provided with the maps to use in my 1st edition adventuring. The publishers key is built in a way that the GM can see at a glance the specifics of a trap or doo [...]

This product was a disappointment. I all honesty I could have made better maps with MS Windows Paint program. The maps are highly pixelated & the fonts look like old MS-DOS system font (on a 16 color monitor). With just a bit of effort these maps [...]

A very large and versatile old school map set at a reasonable price. When I say old school, I don’t mean the basic blue & white square grid copier unfriendly maps like TSR once made. Comparing SSD maps to those maps would be like comparing a 1965 [...]

This is a very simple product. It's maps. And they're fairly well thought-out. I don't notice any glaring issues, however, I should note that these maps are extremely retro-styled. I don't mind it, but if you're used to fancy pants stuff, this m [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
