The sahuagin King hasmaintained an uneasy truce with the landdwellers. Now however he has passedaway as the result of a coup by his son.The son wants the coastal port cities topay tribute to the sahuagin and as a showof force he had the ship crew taken andthe ship allowed to come to port with acontingent of sahuagin hiding beneath it.

The city of Port Rath recently suffered through an outbreak of plague which killed many of the population. Those who didn’t die or flee the city turned to other ways to survive the shortages of supplies. Preying on their neighbors and other victims they fed their hellish appetites, surrendering their very souls to the Gods of Corruption and Death. Most areas of the city have emptied in one way or the other. Buildings once belonging to wealthy upper class families now are boarded up and vacant. In some cases, homes have been burned or razed to the ground. Now, even after the plague, people are warned against moving about the city at night because of roving gangs or worse. Law and order are non-existent. The once proud city guard has deteriorated into nothing more than cutthroats an...

The old alchemist said it was a simple matter of going to the caves and bringing back the rare mushrooms he needs. Might have worked out that way except there are several varieties of mushrooms growing in the caves and he neglected to mention the huge Dire Bats . This is a level one adventure using PathFinder rules.
