An Endzeitgeist.com review

This Bullet Point is 4 pages long, 1page front cover, 1 page SRD, leaving us with 2 pages of content for 3 templates, so let's take a look, shall we?

The first template herein would be the Diamond-template, which increases CR by +2, add DR and HP. Being made of unrefined diamond, appraising and identifying the golem is difficult. Attacks by Diamond golems are rather deadly and every attack that deals less than 15 points of damage may actually result in the weapon being subjected to a sunder-attempt. OUCH - especially thanks due to the DR, which means that 30 points of damage are required to avoid this ability. Rather nasty!

The second template would be the CR+1 Lodestone-golem. These golems get slightly less pronounced enhancements, can carry vast capacities and attract all the unattended metals and may even drag the foes to said creature, dragging intrepid adventurers to these golems - though personally, I wouldn't have solved this via fort-saves and rather with one maneuver-check versus all targets in range: Feels more in line with the standard rules that way, but this is just my preference and will not influence the verdict.

The final golem-template would be the Pumice-golem, which may have a terrible DR, but is immune to fire, can swim and shows bursts of speed and even impressive leaps. Cool, uncommon agile golem.

Conclusion: Editing and formatting are very good, I didn't notice any significant glitches. Layout adheres to a 3-column portrait standard - not a fan of this, since it imho looks a bit cluttered. The pdf has no bookmarks, but needs none at this length.

Owen K.C. Stephens delivers some solid, nice Stone Golem modifications that add some value to the base creature. That being said, while all templates are good per se, I've been spoiled rotten by Rite Publishing's array of excellent templates and in direct comparison, these here just don't have that je-ne-sais-quoi, the blow-my-head-off-unique signature ability - they're great, but could have used a slightly sharper awesomeness-edge. They're universally very close, though.

Hence, my final verdict will hence clock in at 4.5 stars, rounded down to 4 - a good product for a fair price.

Endzeitgeist out.
