The group I played this with had a interesting time with it. Planning to extract the witness and carrying her out were simple enough to where they over-prepared for the raid and not only put up a fight not only with me but also let the house burn after rescuing their employer and 'punishing' her servant while waiting for the cult's minions to come out the front doors. Such a treatment has tarnished their reputation, consequently, though I think giving the survivor a better/higher stat block would improve gameplay as my party one-shotted her before she could even start gloating.

While being a part 3 of 3 adventure set this adventure adds enough interesting plot twists to keep players interested and involved including the boss battle, where they were so close to the ritual it was making rapid changes to them. They were a little surprised to learn of a lawful neutral deity within orc-ish circles.

An enjoyable adventure that continued to interest my players and offer other options. I'd recommend keeping the market options for bug repelant and the like mostly for cosmetic purposes, although it can and some advantage in in-game play. Though I've only played this out once, Pa and the boys made for an interseting 'tounge-in-cheek' encounter.

Thank you, Chris Lindsey, for this exotic and bizzarre romping adventure where nearly anything could happen. My players had little to know idea what would happen next and that in turn played into how they interracted with their surroundings. I'm personally curious about how the story award plays into further plot twists in future seasons.

The adventure hooks offer a good personal interest for PCs and allow players to become intrigued about not only what happens next but also a larger stake in the outcome of the series. A definite 'play again'. Although, I'd also like to know what other Tier 1 Ylraphon adventures are available as one of the hooks meant to link player that may get little to no use is the previous adventurer/business one.

As I played out this module for my players, they took to it easily enough to where there were few areas that stood as difficult for them to face. The puzzles in the grotto were difficult as they had to think around those and try to prepare what came next.

While running this module the in-game-play had a pleasant fluid flow to it that allowed players to adapt and emerse themselves more. (I've run part 1 three times and each time the players tried their hardest to aid the 'poor little rich noble' at the begining of the game starting with re-attaching his ear.) If anyone needs food ideas for the hags to offer players consider watching old Addams family episodes and using some of the odder sounding dishes, like toadstool soufle and henbane tea. I found it even funnier when one accepted and I offered 'goblin gravy' to go with it.

An enjoyable adventure where the group first thought they were helping some children trapped in the thicket only to realize they were will-o'-wisps stiring up trouble in order to feed off their emotions. Their next shock came as the dragon's voice is heard around them while they were fighting. The effect caused everyone to be more cautious and observant as they interacted with the town and the people. Play this adventure went quite smoothly and offered many opportunities for the players to interact and show off their skills.

One player within the group wasn't happy to hear about the earth sharks and not face any while going through random encounters. However the players faced the challenges and dealt with both oppositions in a unique way that allowed for some interesting engagements. Overall, an enjoyable mod I'd like to run again.

While having some issues in how it's written, my experience playing out this adventure has been good. It's supposed to be played out as a continuation to a previous adventure and manages to deliver well the expectancy required to it. The encounters offered played well and gave more interest to the story as the players took up the hags offer to rescue their 'sister' and traded for goods and a prisoner. The story award gave another interesting twist. Velvet's battle became a two parter as one party member became confused enough to use the password to address the dragon flying overhead, but added to the intrigue by offering a unique option of grappling the dragon and climbing onto his back with another party member, while the remaining team dealt with the trolls on the ground. The hate potions were a useful additive to the story as the party tried not to kill off innocents that were doused with the mixture. Overall, a good plot that should be 'proof read' like many others of the series and still effective in game play.

DDEX1-11 Dark Pyramid of Sorcerer’s Isle (5e)

I ended up running this adventure for no less than 12 hours. Part of the time was due to the initial traveling and combat prior to entering the pyramid and what they discovered while getting closer to their destination. Second came from encounters found within the pyramid. I rolled and chose from what their Adventure Level offered to give them random rooms including the zombie minators and the chimera. They actually parleyed effectively with the chimera to fight with them through the next two encounters including some cultists. The chimera charged ahead after defeating the fiercer foes to become deeper entangled in the labrynth. I had to scale down the dragon head by making it a black dragon for fear of it oblterating the majority of the party. I managed to have the red wizard escape and plan to use him as a stand-in NPC in further adventures.

The early plot additions were a boon as it gave the players a chance to show off some of their new skills while giving an additional sense of urgency to the plot. Both secret missions were played out and helped to aid the group a feeling of accomplishment along with some payback from earlier adventures. Some mistakes were made and learned from in addition to players overcoming some unseen obstacles to build a better storyline.

I would recommend giving your players more information about why the bandits must be disbanded and the leader captured as they may ask questions and try to tie him in with a Robin Hood style outlaw. The module does give some information such as rumors and the like to flavor the NPCs, but some additional work may be needed. I had the scouts outside the prison assassinate the bribed guard as he ran out alone to show how they address such failures. The bandit meeting went over quite well as the PCs divided into small strike units to sabotage each side and cause them to further distrust each other and enter into battle twice just to have the orc raid crash in and cause more havok. The players loved it and the additional challenge of a live scene proved enjoyable.

The players loved the references the Jeny Greenteeth and classic fairytale style addages with the returned villager. One was mildly annoyed that no one had advice on how to confront her (by story standard she had too great a reputation). One player had a plan about what to do with the scrying pin but never divulged what he wanted to do with it prior to the meeting with the ranger and the ensuing fight with the scarecrows. They enjoyed the pixies (during the night watch, one player saw a pinecone punted between a tieflings horns beside other pranks mentioned in the game) and dealt with the displacer beasts with fierce gusto. Dealing with the elves went well and the hag battle went surprisingly aggressive with everyone, including her pin in the killing blow. The version I played in previously had me realise the hag portrayal was similar to my aunt in similar ways. Eerie but funny. Worth playing again.

Although a few of my players weren't involved early on because of little combat in the beginning investigation phase, many attempted to interact with the environment including Animal Speaking with the surviving bull and Mending doors and other broken objects around the farms besides looking for tracks and investigating what occured. Sadly the toads blew their stealth checks and couldn't attempt snagging players first. I tried to up the odds slightly after by adding a third into the encounter a few rounds later to have it easily dispatched as well. The Emerald Enclave mission option was heavily influenced by the players they managed to convince a captured lizardman and use him to guide them further into his clan territory and halt further bloodshed as they influenced others into trade options and tales of their recent battles. Sadly, I couldn't get the players to fight the Lizardfolk king due to the fact that they charmed him to comply with their requests. So I threw in a dwarven swineherdress refusing to leave until her breeding sow was recovered (aka classic pet owner jumping into the fire to rescue beloved pet). They helped her carry and load it onto a raft. Regardless, the players were highly imaginative, willing to offer options to overcome obstacles and deliver an effective force in battle when neccessary. Overall, a definite play-again.
