Shadowrun: Fifth Edition: Core Rulebook Errata
Publisher: Catalyst Game Labs
by Matt P. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 03/08/2019 08:00:51

This PDF is hot garbage. It is older than the current PDF of the core book. It doesn't contain most of the errata that has accumulated since 2014 when the file was last updated. The only way to get the actual errata is to read an ever-growing thread on the Shadowrun forums. It's not all minor changes either.

Shadowrun: Fifth Edition Core Rulebook (Master Index Edition)

There is tons of errata over the past 3 years since this was last updated. The only place it lives is on the Shadowrun forums or Reddit. That's a terrible way to handle errata. At least some of that errata should have been put into this PDF by now. There is no acceptable excuse after this many years, for a still active game. It hasn't been touched since 2016. The separate errata PDF that is posted to DriveThruRPG is garbage older than this PDF and only contains a fraction of the errata.

Also having only the "master index" instead of just an index for the book I own is extremely un-user-friendly. It makes it less useful because if I am looking in a book's index I'm looking for something in THAT book. A master index is a fine idea as a separate PDF that you could maintain more regularly and anyone could download.

Necessary Sacrifices (Novice)
Publisher: Schwalb Entertainment

The story of the adventure is good, but be warned most of the opponents in the adventure are expert level monsters that will handily wreck level 1 PCs. Difficulty 100 and 50 creatures are recommended for expert tier. It wasn't a fun challenge for my PCs, it was just hopeless frustration.

DDAL07-03 A Day at the Races (5e)
Publisher: Wizards of the Coast
by Matt P. [Verified Purchaser]

Overall I liked this adventure a lot. It was very fun to run. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 is because I have very harsh words about the betting system in act 1.

I had a problem with the betting on the first 2 dinosaur races. I wish they'd done a straight forward percentile table. I ended up starting from the top, intending to just roll until somebody one. I didn't like that because it felt very unlikely for the last one to even have a chance of rolling. As it turned out, the very likely thing happened and the first one won. I ended up simplifying it to say that by the time they were ready and betting the first race was done to avoid dealing with the table more.

The fact that the same terrible table is in the ToA book isn't an excuse. It's bad there too. It seems like someone wanted something complex in ToA and somebody wanted it simple and they "simplified" it by printing half of it instead of actually printing a simple betting system--and then a piece of that mess got copied to this adventure.

5e Creature Decks: Beasts, Oozes, & Plants

These seem good. I'm concerned the printed text might be on the small side when I get them. Looking through the PDF it did seem like some of the giant animals are there. I'll need to take a closer look. I didn't see the giant snakes, and they're in the SRD. A list of what was there on the product page would have been helpful.

Thank you! Adding the creature list was on my to-do list, but because it was in the preview (the back of the first card is a checklist) I hadn\'t gotten around to it you. The SRD giant animals are there, but they are combined with the non-giant version where possible.

P.S. It is difficult to pack all the info onto a trading card, but we made the text as large as we reasonably could have. Most creature text is 9pt, but some that have many abilities are 8.5, 8, or even 7.5. We also picked a narrow font.
