This is a fun little set. I am NOT a big fan of double-fronted figures, and prefer backs. Also, the bases on these figures are not laid out as well as many other figures styles (in the One Monk format). There will be some "work" required to make the necessary adjustments to these figures to "base" them "correctly." Another item that would benefit the figures is thicker borders to help the cutting and assembly easier.

Now, that I have offered my negative comments, let me say that I gave this set 4 stars because of the other content included with this set. The history, and other information may not seem relative to this set, but there IS a lot of information there, and I like the fact that you can purchase the set and feel like you "know" the race themselves. Many publishers offer a set of figures, and there is little or no "fluff" to add to the fun of the figures.

The figures themselves scored a 2 out of five for me (due to the above concerns). The information included raised that to 3 out of five stars. Had the set been at full price, I would have left it there. Since the set was offered for a mere $.99 (USD), that is a bargain, and added to the value of the set.

I feel that for the small price, the set (even with the concerns I have) was WELL worth the download. A lot of potential, and fun to be had in this set.

This is a fine product for those that use miniatures. The style is a little cartoonish, but that is fine with me. Others may have different tastes. My favorite thing is the Pathfinder stats for the Litorians as a PC race. They are well done & about what i would have done myself in a conversion.

The best companions are those that can stand on their own. That’s as true for your supplements as it is for your friends, and it’s on good display with this product. While on the surface, this may look like a sold-separately addendum to Rite Publishing’s Litorians sourcebook, it’s actually still entirely useful on its own (though make no mistake, you’ll get more mileage out of this if you also have the Litorians sourcebook).

First, let’s go over the bulk of the book, which is definitely its paper minis. I’ve recently come to start having more respect for paper minis. Since no one in my group cares very much for the time and expense that are necessary to acquire and paint metal minis, we tend to be somewhat lazy about representing things on the battlemat. Usually a handful of different dice represent everyone, and that’s adequate…but it’s an unspoken truth that we wish there was something cooler. Paper minis seem like a happy medium in that regard.

Ashton Sperry’s art style is enjoyable, using a bright but suitably shaded series of colors (often in earth-tones, which helps to capture the feeling of the nomadic litorians). Some may find it a bit cartoony, however – the eyes, for example, are all a blank white. I didn’t find this to be a detriment, but if you’re very serious about how your characters appear, this may be slightly off-putting. Note that, despite the titles for the various minis given on the book’s sales page, none of those terms actually appear in the product; that is, there’s no label that denotes that the five male litorians are “totem warriors.”

What really did it for me with this book wasn’t just the minis, though, but was the full page of Pathfinder racial information at the beginning. Narrated in the first-person, most of this page goes over the standard information of society, physical description, etc. before giving us their PC racial information. I should note, however, that there was one part to this that was a bit irking, that being that litorians have weapon familiarity with any exotic weapon that has “litorian” in the name. That’s great, except for there aren’t any weapons here; for that, you need to turn to the Litorians sourcebook.

Still, that’s a relatively minor issue, and easily ignored. It’s still great to have Pathfinder racial information on Litorians to begin with, and of course paper minis to use for your litorian character (and bulettes, to boot). If you’re looking to play a noble cat-person in your Pathfinder game, if you want to have great minis for your Arcana Evolved game, or if you want to round out the material from the Litorians sourcebook, definitely pick up these paper minis.

I wanted to thank Shane O' Conner for taking the time to do such an in depth and through review of the Ashton Sperry's Paper minis. Special thanks for noticing the litorians for pathfinder by Robert "Ranting' Brown. Just a note the Litorians weapons appear not int he Litorians supplement but Monte Cook's Arcana Evolved and of course the AE SRD. I may just add one to this product though, good catch, i missed that. 5 out of 5 stars does the snoopy happy dance of joy! Steve Russell Rite Publishing

This product is pretty much exactly what it claims to be. It is paper mini's of Litorians. They are well done and if you are looking for paper mini's of Litorians then this is a good product to pickup.
