Heroic Maps - Geomorphs: Cavern Chambers
Publisher: Heroic Maps
by David R. [Verified Purchaser]

These are great maps that work well with any game system. I've used several in my game night including the Medieval City 1 & 2 and this one and my players enjoyed the added detail and interaction that these maps provided.

I found one issue with a duplicate page that Joe & Sarah quickly sent me a correction for and then updated the files on RPGnow.

The only complaint my players had on this map was that the grids were a bit hard to see and the cavern walls were a little difficult to differentiate from the ledges and steps throughout.

Call You a Fool - Short Adventures Inspired by Classic Rock
Publisher: Murder of Crows Publishing

I was hooked as soon as I saw the Jethro Tull image sampled for the cover.

I have already used one of these well-crafted storylines (Call You a Fool) for my game night and my players are still talking about it - even though they didn't save the witch's daughter. They were actually just as happy knowing that all my stories "don't have happy endings".

I think the book could have been just as well done if it had been written system-agnostic, but having the Pathfinder stats and spells didn't hinder me from tweaking them to work with my campaign in another game system.

Definitely a good setup that allows adjustments and tweaking as needed. Within 1 day, I had a workable storyline that kept my players engaged the whole night.

I have even started using the dialog prompt method used to make my NPC conversations have more flow and less guess work.

Masks: 1,000 Memorable NPCs for Any Roleplaying Game

I found some samples of Eureka and Masks on Engine's website and was very impressed with the information, samples, and ideas provided, so I decided to buy the full ebook for both.

This book is very well written and provides lots of easily NPCs with great physical descriptions, backgrounds, motivations and some sample storylines to go with them that work with any system.

I've already used a couple of the NPCs with little or no adjustment and the players in my game absolutely loved the detail and interaction these new NPCs provided.

I also love the name generator banner that is on each page. By flipping to any page and picking a first name from one page and a last name from the other, you can come up with 100s of new character names. It would be nice to have an index of first/last names in a table or something that would allow for quicker lookup or even a roll chart.

I found some samples of Eureka and Masks on Engine's website and was very impressed with the information, samples, and ideas provided, so I decided to buy the full ebook for both.

This book is very well written and provides lots of easily expandable/tweakable plots that work with any system.

I've already used a couple of the plot ideas in my game night and even with only a couple days prep time, the players the original storylines and twists that they dealt with.

I'm looking forward to delving deeper and finding more that I can use to add to my game.
