Better Mousetrap 3e
Publisher: Misfit Studios

Want more options for building your M&M villains? It's in here. Need sample technology, lairs, archetypes and ways to torment your players? It's in here too. There's also a fully fleshed out evil organization built for you to drop into your campaign. I feel like "Better Mousetrap" is an essential resource that goes hand-in-hand with the Gamemaster's Guide by Green Ronin. I almost never pull one off the shelf without the other. It's just that good.

Mythic Role Playing

I bought this product years ago along with "Mythic Variations." I've read through it several times and it has some great advice for creative stories, running your game and keeping track of things whether you're using it as your game engine or just the GM Emulator part. Although I find the Mythic system intriguing I have never used it. I'm sure it would work perfectly well for running a game with. The main selling feature for me was the Game Master Emulator. I'm almost always the GM for the games I play, and the idea of being able to get a group together and join them as a player was very appealing. I've used it a few times with Mutants and Masterminds 3e and Savage Worlds and can say it works great. You need to know how your chosen gaming system works, and the GME does the rest of the work for you. I'd recommend Mythic for that alone! If you do want a generic system, you get that too...so it's a great purchase for folks looking for one or both of those things.

[M&M3e] The Great Game
Publisher: Fainting Goat Games
by Charles S. [Verified Purchaser]

I'll start with the nitpicky little details about "The Great Game." There are a few missed instances of the term "ICON" which reminds the reader that this book was ported over from a different system. A few typos pepper the text, and are more numerous in the last few sections of the book. The most notable one is a recurring one: 'ee' often shows up in spots intended to say 'be.' Overall these are relatively few and won't impact the usefulness of the material in-game. The artwork ranges from servicable to really top notch. The star map is particularly great looking.

As to the setting material, I was impressed. There are a lot of homages being paid to various other science-fiction materials, and it's obviously done with the utmost respect for those. The backstory provided works well as a backdrop or even some ways to account for your player character's motivations and source of powers. Each area has a good amount of detail into their motivations, enmities and rulers, which certainly feels cosmic. An imaginative GM could easily run an entire campaign with the materials and hooks provided. There's certainly no reason you couldn't roll some of these concepts into those provided in the "Cosmic Handbook" but it would take some effort to make it all play well together. If you don't want to use, or don't have that book, "The Great Game" gives you lots of ideas to use and is well worth the price.

The WatchGuard Sourcebook 3e

Really top notch product all around. The artwork and presentation is excellent. Each character is well fleshed out and unique. I love the adventures provided as well, as it's something I feel was missing from the Hero's Handbook and Gamemaster Guides. With this book and the core rule book alone you have a wealth of story material, heroes and villains to start telling great stories with.

Highly recommended!
