Delta Green: Music From a Darkened Room
by Megan R. [Featured Reviewer]
Publisher: Arc Dream Publishing
Date Added: 11/15/2017 12:20:01
Delta Green: Music From a Darkened Room This adventure begins with the party being asked to investigate the mysterious death of a veteran Delta Green agent (and FBI agent) in a suburban house that has a bad reputation in the neighbourhood - their task is to determine if the house itself poses a threat. The local coroner has pronounced him a suicide, and other Delta Green agents in the FBI worked to maintain this as the official story, but the organisation has doubts and wishes to know the truth... but not for it to get out. The locals feel the same way, so this is an investigation that must be carried out discreetly. There's a What's Going On section that gives you the low-down on the house, its history and what is actually happening there: a sad story spanning over an hundred years. There are various avenues of enquiry that the party can follow, and masses of information to enable you to give appropriate responses as they investigate. The main strands that they can pursue include the house itself, official records, talki...

Extraordinary Extras - Sacred Service

Publisher: Critical Hit Publishing

Extraordinary Extras - Sacred Service Nicely done set of tables to roll on or to pick from, to define a divine spellcaster character or to generate divine spellcasting traditions for a setting. The new death domain option at the end of the document seems well thought-out and balanced. Looks great on a screen but printing in b&w makes it a bit murky but still totally usable. It would be nice to have a more printer-friendly version, though.

Extraordinary Extras - Arcane Ancestry A well thought-out set of tables to roll for or pick different quirks and traits to define a character or to create magical traditions for a setting. The aetheric magic variant rules at the end of the document seem well done, too. Looks great on a screen but printing in b&w makes it a bit murky but still totally usable. It would be nice to have a more printer-friendly version, though.

Monsters & Magic Roleplaying Game
by Mauno J.
Publisher: Modiphius
Date Added: 11/15/2017 10:39:57
Monsters & Magic Roleplaying Game This game was such a disappointment. I tried to run a Basic D&D adventure (Sword and Shield) converted to the Monsters & Magic rules according to the guidelines given in the M&M rulebook. The adventure was designed for a *single* 1st-level player character, but it was just too difficult for two ordinary 1st-level M&M characters and we had to quit the game because the players were not having fun. So if you are looking for a more modern ruleset to run old D&D adventures with, I don't advise picking up this game....

Night Below: An Underdark Campaign (2e)
by Mark T.
Publisher: Wizards of the Coast
Date Added: 11/15/2017 09:55:54
Night Below: An Underdark Campaign (2e) While the black and white pages of this module are very crisp, the color maps, particularly the large map sheets, suffer from some very obvious quality loss. These oversize pages are fine for viewing as an entire page at once, on a monitor, but if you are zooming in, or for printout, especially at full size, the quality loss is substantial. The module itself is an awesome 2e AD&D adventure... and ports quite easily to first edition AD&D as well. Migrating it to 3rd or later editions is substantial work, and would require significant changes to maintain game balance. If it hadn't been for the color map quality loss, especially on the large poster maps, I'd give this 5 stars, quite handily....

Neoclassical Geek Revival Art Free Edition
by Thilo G. [Featured Reviewer]
Publisher: Zzarchov Kowolski
Date Added: 11/15/2017 06:10:32
Neoclassical Geek Revival Art Free Edition An Endzeitgeist.com review This roleplaying game clocks in at 112 pages, 1 page front cover, 2 pages of ToC/editorial, 2 pages blank, 1 page back cover, leaving us with 106 pages of content, so let’s take a look! So, what is this? In short, we have an OSR-rule-set here, one that, however, deviates so strongly from the roots of the game-chassis that it basically becomes its own beast. As such, we begin with asserting the global rules: The book denotes some of the rules with a “B” – these would be basic rules; for more complexity, there also are “F”-rules, with “F” standing for “Fiddly” – self-explanatory so far. Interesting: The pdf does note basic rules for rolling dice: All modifiers need to be mentioned in no more than 2 statements before the roll – total modifier or total roll. If a modifier is forgotten, it does not apply. Coked dice and those outside of the dice-rolling area get rerolled. Positive or negative rerolls (à la advantage/disadvantage) get rolled at once, w...

Everyman Minis: Unchained Kangaroos
by Thilo G. [Featured Reviewer]

Everyman Minis: Unchained Kangaroos An Endzeitgeist.com review This everyman mini clocks in at 10 pages, 1 page front cover, 1 page editorial, 4 pages of SRD, 1 page advertisement, leaving us with 3 pages of content, so let’s take a look! So, why unchain the kangaroo? Well, they don’t trap foes like e.g. wolves and analogue creatures: They actually have claws. And even the front paws aren’t as harmless as they look. Hence, we get cool alternate stats for unchained kangaroo animal companion stats on the first page – no complaints regarding them in comparison to other animal companion stats. (They advance at 4th level, just fyi.) The regular kangaroo presented herein would be a CR ½ creature, whose kick causes bludgeoning and piercing damage (which can be a bit odd in DR-interaction) and a threat-range of 19-20. They can’t kick as part of a full attack unless their BAB is equal to or exceeds +6. Crits with kicks can disembowel you, causing bleeding wounds and Con-damage – OUCH! Things get cooler, though –...

Pathfinder Summon Monster Cards I was looking at having to make and print out my own. While I had wished there was a non printed version available. I did have access to first rate printing on cardstock and a cutter. So they turned out awesome. Printed nice and crisp and clear with no issues. I cannot wait tobuse these with my wizard.

Heroic Maps - Storeys: Pyramid of the Sun Priests

Heroic Maps - Storeys: Pyramid of the Sun Priests I love the map details, and they are just right for a one shot. However, since i play primarily on roll20 (VTT), i had to reduce the file sizes on the maps just to be able to get them uploaded so i can use them (roll20 limit is 10meg). Then i had to resize them to fit the grid. I would say, if these maps are "VTT" ready, them at least one of the popular VTT sites (roll20) file sizes should have been supported. (meaning having ready made maps with the proper sizes to begin with) Other than that, i'm happy with the maps. Cheers!...

Vampire: The Masquerade 20th Anniversary Edition

Vampire: The Masquerade 20th Anniversary Edition A fantastic compedium for Vampire. This is a bit of a late review as I got the book a few months ago, but it is brilliant. I got the standard print hard cover, and for a cheaper option, the book still serves its purpose perfectly. In the future I may consider buying premium color print books simply to support the folks here at DriveThruRpg.

Star Map
by Trevor L.
Publisher: DramaScape
Date Added: 11/14/2017 16:48:27
Star Map The artwork is very nice. The biggest disappontment is that the VTT (single image) versions have no hex lines (the Space Station map does have them, but they are very faint). I was hoping to be able to print a single large hex map (instead of having to trim and tape together 18 pages to make the map), but that option is not available. It would have been better if there were full-size hex AND grid versions included, or at least a full-size PDF with layers that you could change.

APG Paper Tiles: Space The tiles are too small for any decent space battle. Also, there are no options for hexes. You would do better to get some public domain NASA photos and make your own grid lines in photoshop.

ICONS Superpowered Roleplaying: The Assembled Edition
by John P.
Publisher: Ad Infinitum Adventures
Date Added: 11/14/2017 16:14:36
ICONS Superpowered Roleplaying: The Assembled Edition I've been on the lookout for a new supers RPG for a couple years now and have often seen this title. After much consideration I went for the plunge and purchased it along with the other helpful titles of Origins, Great Power, and A-Z. I've run a couple sessions with my gaming group and here's what I found I think is worthing mentioning. 1) The gaming system is simple and fast. I've read that ICONS has its roots in FATE (which I've never played). Its resolution of attacks is simple, can be done in a single roll (using some options) and each round can go very quickly. If you like to focus on the story more than the numbers, you might like the way ICONS plays out. Because the system is fairly easy to understand, even a new player can join in readily. 2) Character Creation is very fast an intuitive. I found I could already "see" my character as I'm creating him/her and within about 10-15 minutes I was ready to go. Once you understand the range of 1-10, the GM can create villains and ch...
