DDAL05-03 Uninvited Guests (5e)

DDAL05-03 Uninvited Guests (5e) Overall I enjoyed running this module. We ran it yesterday as the new season is starting and my table already had characters finished. We had a good spread of players and had more than the average amount of players, but had atleast one new DND player, so the party average was slightly lower than the curve. There was good room for role play and they seemed happy knowing that their decision really did impact how things went. Luckily everything went well and now they have a story reward that is a goal for atleast one of them....

Letters from the Flaming Crab: Monster Circus

Date Added: 09/13/2017 06:17:05
Letters from the Flaming Crab: Monster Circus An Endzeitgeist.com review This installment of Flaming Crab Games delightfully gonzo series clocks in at 19 pages, 1 page front cover, 1 page editorial, 2 pages of SRD, leaving us with 15 pages of content, so let’s take a look! As always in the series, we begin with an eponymous letter from our favorite planes- and dimension-hopping vessel, the UCS Flaming Crab, continuing the charming and well-written meta-narrative that leads us to the topic at hand, which would be Argent & Midnight’s Circus Esoterica and Extravaganza of the Strange. This time, however, Gale and Jilius, the writers of this letter and latest members of the crew, actually also provide a second letter – and we get full stats for the friendly harpy sorceress and her harpy unchained rogue (pack rat) half-sister – as well as an absolutely STUNNING full-color, full-page artwork for the two: Kudos to artists Allen Morris and André Karwath! Now, this circus, colloquially called Monster Circus, does have, obviousl...

Everyman Minis: Mysteries of Passion

Date Added: 09/13/2017 06:15:16
Everyman Minis: Mysteries of Passion An Endzeitgeist.com review This Everyman Mini clocks in at 7 pages, 1 page front cover, 1 page editorial, 1 page advertisement, 2 pages of SRD, leaving us with 2 pages of content, so let’s take a look! All righty, we begin this Everyman Mini with a brief introduction and a new 8th level spell, which would be symbol of debauchery: This duplicates symbol of death, but instead affects the targets with reckless infatuation, treating creatures that they have healthy relationships as objects of desire, attempting to stay as close to as many of them as possible, using their actions to engage in consenting and relaxing activities. These are so taxing that they potentially prevent the regaining of spells. Tastefully handled! Big kudos! Now the main body of the pdf, obviously, is taken up by the new oracle mystery passion, which nets Bluff, handle Animals and Sense Motive as class skills. The bonus spells gained range from charm person to mantle of calm, matchmaker and later nets th...

5E Mini-Dungeon #051: There Are More Things in the Planes and the Earth

5E Mini-Dungeon #051: There Are More Things in the Planes and the Earth An Endzeitgeist.com review This pdf clocks in at 2 pages and is a mini-dungeon. This means we get 2 pages content, including a solid map and all item/monster-stats hyperlinked and thus, absent from the pdf, with only deviations from the statblocks being noted for the GM. Big plus: This mini-dungeon comes with a key-less .tif player map as well as a high-res GM map for VTT-use – kudos! Since this product line's goal is providing short diversions, side-quest dungeons etc., I will not expect mind-shattering revelations, massive plots or particularly smart or detailed depictions, instead tackling the line for what it is. Got that? Great! This being an adventure-review, the following contains SPOILERS. Potential players may wish to jump to the conclusion. ... .. . Still here? All right! This can be used as a sequel to the previous mini-dungeon "When goblins die, no comets are seen", though it can also be used on its own. The very entrance to this complex is ...

Super Secret Spy Agency
by Christopher R.
Publisher: FeralGamersInc
Date Added: 09/13/2017 01:21:40
Super Secret Spy Agency This game is so bad, it would be the best MST3K review of all time. The front cover is sample art from a website with the watermark ineptly airbrushed over, there are major typos in the graphics ("confidencial"), the formatting is all over the place with bold being used in some cases but not others, spelling and grammar mistakes abound, I still have no idea how the mechanics work, and the interior art is again free samples sized way bigger than the graphics can handle and are a pixelated nightmare. That said, this book is a perfect example of what not to do, and should be downloaded and read to be believed. ...

Cut to the Chase: Dramatic Chase Sequences

Cut to the Chase: Dramatic Chase Sequences Tom's *Cut to the Chase* is a fantastic resource, possible the best I've seen of the Explorer's Society supplements so far. If you're at all intersted in *7th Sea*, you should definitely pick it up. Here's some of the best parts about it: * Momentum! One of the biggest complaints people have about 2nd Edition is that they don't know how to challenge their Players. Momentum, the use of a "Target" number of Raises that Heroes are working towards over the course of several Rounds is a great way to help mitigate some of those concerns, especially since the Actions of the Heroes can shift Momentum in their favor or against them. * There's TONS of examples throughout the text, helping you get a really good idea about how to use each of the pieces * Several references for when you're suffering from Creative Fatigue that you can throw at your Players. * Examples of now Skills could be used, even ones you might not expect like Perform and Empathy, during a Chase....

Paranoia Red Clearance Edition

Paranoia Red Clearance Edition **INTRODUCT-I-ION** I'll admit that I was backer #1 for the Mongoose Paranoia KickStarter campaign -- and dropped my pledge several days later. None of the original game designers? No James Holloway art? Cards?? I was quite happy with my first edition Paranoia, with its Falls from Great Height chart and specialized skill trees. And, I'd like to think that Paranoia isn't a game where you know all the rules. It's an atmosphere you create with the game as a framework. So, with that level of skepticism, I passed on the KickStarter, thinking that I pretty much had a High Programmer's trove of Paranoia, from first edition through XP. Well, you know how dangerous *thinking* is with Paranoia. **OUT OF THE BOX** The boxed set comes with three softcover digest sized books: Player Handbook, Gamemasters Handbook, and Mission Book. Additional Player Handbooks can be purchased separately. The set also has 110 cards, four regular dice, one Computer die, and six wipe-off character sheets...

100 Oddities for a Treasure Hoard

Date Added: 09/12/2017 22:02:24
100 Oddities for a Treasure Hoard As with the other "100 Oddities..." titles, this product is designed to help GM's create more unique encounters. "100 Oddities for a Treasure Horde" is chock full of great items. Items that are much more than just a pile of coins and a handful of gemstones. This product is great for GM's in a hurry or need a special item in a pinch. This lets the GM create fun treasure hordes, great or small, that are as interesting as the players. Another great set of random tables from Skirmisher Publishing and well worth the price. ...

DDEX1-03 Shadows of the Moonsea (5e)

DDEX1-03 Shadows of the Moonsea (5e) Although the investigation started slow, the party progressed quickly in finding all the clues and finding help in linking the attacks and chasing down the next lead. In not trusting the local 'Folk' but aiding them in defending off the attack the final battle went off splendidly. The only catch was they refused the leave the island without investigating the alter and taking the girl along. All in all, great adventure.

DDEX1-02 Secrets of Sokol Keep (5e)

DDEX1-02 Secrets of Sokol Keep (5e) Although I enjoyed running this adventure a couple issues did cause some problems. Such as the dialog prior to the barfight where people were mixed up as to saying things that ended confusing the PC group and had to be immediately changed to make more sense. Second, while it's nice for the GM to know where the ghost haunts on the island, no indications of how to summon her to meet or talk nor options for an encounter are given save where she throws a 'clue' at the PCs (which didn't happen) or causes things to fall over to help find secret doors (also didn't happen as they found all the earlier clues and found the way through on their own). In short, they solved the mystery, defeated the threats and overcame all obscacles, caught and brought the guilty group to justice and restored the lighthouse only to earn the minimal experience amount because they didn't talk to the ghost and left all the house money and baubles alone. Will someone either offer more options or help me with a recoun...
